This policy explains which cookies jacar.es uses, what they do and how you can manage them.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a site stores on your device to remember information about your visit. They can be first-party (managed by jacar.es) or third-party (managed by another provider, such as Google).

Types of cookies

  • Necessary: essential for the site to work. Always on; no consent required.
  • Preferences: remember your display settings (for example, the listing mode or posts per page).
  • Analytics: measure in aggregate how the site is used. Enabled only if you accept them.
  • Marketing: ad personalisation. jacar.es currently sets no marketing cookies; the category is kept in the consent panel in case any are added in future.

Which cookies we use

First-party cookies

Third-party cookies (set only if you accept analytics)

Analytics cookies (and marketing cookies, where applicable) are set only with your consent, under Spain’s LSSI (Art. 22) and the GDPR. Necessary cookies rely on the legitimate interest of delivering the service you request.

Managing your preferences

You can accept, reject or configure cookies at any time, and withdraw your consent whenever you like:

Cookie preferences

You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings:

If you reject cookies

The site will keep working normally. The Google tag is not loaded, so your browser makes no request to Google. If you withdraw consent you had given, we delete the _ga and _ga_<id> cookies (and the view counter’s old pvc_visits cookie, if you still have it). Your display preferences are still saved via necessary cookies.

Neither the post view counter nor the Plausible statistics we also use set cookies or store anything in your browser, so they work even if you reject cookies. The counter only keeps, on the server and for 24 hours, a one-way hash of your IP address and browser so the same read is not counted twice. Some features (light or dark theme, the steps you tick in the labs, your Cintoteca favourites) keep settings in your browser’s local storage; that data never leaves your device.
