Docker Desktop 4.94 switches the logging driver to local: what it means and how to do it on your server
Docker Desktop 4.94, released on 5 October 2026, uses the local logging driver for new Linux containers: it rotates and compresses with no setup. In my test, 3 million lines took 454.5 MB with json-file and 15.5 MB with local. Docker Engine on Linux still defaults to json-file, so on a server you have to change it yourself.
