What PixelRAG is and how well it searches Wikipedia with screenshots
PixelRAG is a retrieval system for RAG that turns every web page into screenshot tiles and searches the images, without converting the HTML to text. Its Berkeley paper beats Trafilatura on recall in NQ, SimpleQA and LiveVQA. In my test of the public API it found the right article for 8 of 10 English questions.
